Singer accidentally lets release date slip to fans in a US street

Lana Del Rey has accidentally let slip the release date for her new album ‘Ultraviolence’.

The ‘Video Games’ singer was stopped by fans in a US street to sign autographs and was asked about her new album. Del Rey then blurted out the May 1 release date before attempting to backtrack. It was all captured on camera, which you can watch by scrolling down the page and clicking ‘play’.

Speaking about the new record, she added: “It’s so good that it made me forget about the last record. I’m in love with it. I have that romantic feeling about it.”

Del Rey revealed that her second album will be titled ‘Ultraviolence’ at the launch event for her short film Tropico last year. Appearing onstage at a screening of Tropico at Hollywood’s Cinerama Dome, Del Rey told fans: “I really just wanted us all to be together so I could visually close the chapter before I release my new album, ‘Ultraviolence’.

Last month, Lana Del Rey revealed new song ‘Once Upon A Dream’, the theme song from the soundtrack to the new Disney film Maleficient. The song can be heard above and downloaded for free via Google Play.
