Lana Del Rey: ‘I still have the same babysitting job’

'Video Games' star reckons she has a 'really normal life'

Lana Del Rey has said she is unchanged by her growing fame and still has the same babysitting job.

The ‘Video Games’ star, who releases her debut LP ‘Born To Die’ next week (January 30), told MTV that her fans would be shocked at how normal her life is.

“People would be surprised to know that I live a really quiet life,” said the singer. “I do a lot of the same things every day when I’m home.”

She went on to add:

I still have the same babysitting job. I babysit twice a week. When I’m here… that’s what I do, because it’s something I’ve been doing for a while. But I’ve been travelling a lot.

Earlier this week (January 27), Del Rey insisted that despite her rise to fame she still chats directly to her fans and takes them out for dinner.

The singer is also set to re-release her original debut album, which was officially released in 2010 under her real name, Lizzie Grant. Del Rey, who also said that she has bought the rights to record and will be putting it out later this year, claimed: “People act like it’s so shrouded in mystery, the ‘forgotten terrible album’.

“But if you look on YouTube, all 13 tracks are available with millions of views, so it’s not like no-one’s heard them. We were all proud of it. It’s pretty good.”

Lana Del Rey is set to score a Top 10 hit this Sunday (January 29) with her new single ‘Born To Die’. The single, which is also the title track from her first album under the name Lana Del Rey, was at Number 10 in the Official UK Singles Chart earlier this week.
