Del Rey, who was appearing in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, covered the Leicester band’s recent single and revealed that she was inspired to do so after they played a version of her single ‘Video Games’ in the same setting.

She told Fearne Cotton of why she’d decided to cover Kasabian: “I really loved it when they covered ‘Video Games’, I thought that was great.”

She continued:

All of my boyfriends had loved Kasabian and I’d never listened to them. I started and I really like this song. I love this song and I love the melody, I love the way the boys sing it.

Del Rey is due to play at this year’s Latitude Festival over the weekend of July 12–15 in Suffolk‘s Henham Park, along with the Isle Of Wight Festival and Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Hackney.
