Four dates to take place ahead of release of new album 'Short Movie'
Laura Marling has announced details of a series of UK tour dates taking place later this month and in February.
The short tour will see Marling play four gigs in total, visiting Hebden Bridge, London, Edinburgh and Bristol. The jaunt begins at The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge on January 28. Tickets are available to buy via an invitation to buy’ ticket lottery. Click here for more details.
Marling releases her fifth album, ‘Short Movie’, on March 23. She recently revealed that she’s “managed to resist EDM” on the forthcoming electronic album, adding that the record was inspired by her time in America and her feelings of being “desperately lost in translation”.
The singer-songwriter, who’s been living in LA for two years, wrote her new album in America at the beginning of 2014. In the new issue of Uncut, she revealed that the record was based on the fear the country induced in her, including the track ‘Small Poke’, which was written after her experience of Hurricane Sandy in New York and “the horror of being in an enormous metropolis with no power”.
Laura Marling will play:
Hebden Bridge The Trades Club (January 28)
London The Silver Bullet (31)
Edinburgh The Caves (February 4)
Bristol Thekla (7)
