The singer-songwriter meets and greets friends in her east Los Angeles home
Laura Marling has released the video for her latest single ‘Gurdjieff’s Daughter’, following the release of her fifth album, ‘Short Movie’, last week (March 23).
The video, which premiered on Dazed yesterday (April 1), shows Marling wandering through her former east Los Angeles home speaking to friends and singing. The friends include English vocalist Marika Hackman, actress Rhian Rees, American musician Jonathan Wilson and Vampire Weekend guitarist Rostam Batmanglij, giving a glimpse into Marling’s Californian life.
‘Gurdjieff’s Daughter’ will be released as a single on May 18. Watch the video below.
The clip follows the murals Marling unveiled last week around London. She enlisted several artists to paint the album artwork for ‘Short Movie’ in various locations around London.
It was also recently announced that Marling will guest on Americana singer-songwriter Gill Landry’s new album. The self-titled album will be released on June 22, and Marling features on song ‘Take This Body’.
