Fans give verdict on LCD Soundsystem’s Glastonbury set

It was their first UK performance since they returned from a hiatus last year (2015)

Fans have reacted to LCD Soundsystem‘s set at Glastonbury Festival tonight (June 26).

James Murphy’s crew closed out the festival on the Other Stage as Coldplay headlined on the Pyramid Stage. It was the dance-punk band’s first UK performance since they returned from a hiatus last year (2015).

Fans watching in person at Pilton Farm and at home thanks to the BBC lavished the band’s set with praise, with one even suggesting the group were “getting God’s approval tonight”.

Meanwhile, dubstep producer SBTRKT was among those showing his appreciation.

LCD Soundsystem blasted through 12 songs at Glastonbury Festival tonight, opening with ‘Us V Them’ followed by ‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House’, and closing with ‘New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down’ followed by ‘Dance Yrself Clean’.

In between they played ‘I Can Change’, ‘Get Innocuous!’, ‘You Wanted A Hit’, ‘Tribulations’, ‘Movement’, ‘Yeah’, ‘Someone Great’ and ‘Losing My Edge’.

The band will be back in the UK next month (July) for sets at T In The Park in Perthshire and Lovebox in London. A new studio album, their follow-up to 2010’s ‘This Is Happening’, is expected later this year.
