Band recording in New York with producer Chris Zane
Les Savy Fav are aiming to release their next studio album in September.
The band have been working on the follow-up to 2007’s ‘Let’s Stay Friends’ at New York‘s Gigantic Studios with producer Chris Zane, who produced their previous release and has also worked with The Walkmen and Passion Pit.
Bassist Syd Butler told NME that the album would be heavier than ‘Let’s Stay Friends’.
“We’re not buying atmospheric gizmos to fill out space on the songs,” he said. “They’re all three-and-a-half minutes long, they’re more compact and concise. This record feels a lot more ’90s – closer to our roots.”
Frontman Tim Harrington joked: “Yeah, we’re trying to get back to the time when we didn’t have any fans!”
