Lightspeed Champion planning ‘rock opera’ Reading And Leeds Festivals shows

Dev Hynes reveals ambitious festival plan

Lightspeed Champion‘s Dev Hynes has revealed that he is planning to play a “rock opera” set at the Reading And Leeds Festivals this weekend (August 28-30).

The singer/songwriter is playing on the Festival Republic stage in Leeds tomorrow (August 29) then in Reading on Sunday, and has said he will be trying to move away from playing a conventional set.

“I want to do this kind of obscenely over-the-top rock opera thing over the two shows,” he told NME.COM. “I’ve been writing lots of really short, minute-long songs about the festival. I want to play them as kind of segues between other songs. I think it might happen.”
