Lil Wayne says next album will be his last – unless he’s paid $25m-plus for another

'Tha Carter V' is expected on May 5

Lil Wayne has said that he does not intend to record another album after the forthcoming ‘Tha Carter V’, which is expected on May 5.

Speaking to MTV news, the rapper said only a very lucrative offer would lure him out of retirement.

About his retirement, Lil Wayne said: “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it’s definitely the final ‘Carter’ album. It’s the final ‘Carter’ album. It’s stopping at five.”

Asked what would lure him out of solo retirement, the rapper said: “25 to 35 million (US dollars) would get me to do another solo album after this.”

It was reported last week (March 4) that Lil Wayne reportedly owes over $12m (£7.1m) in taxes. The US rapper reportedly owes the huge sum after failing to pay taxes for 2011 and 2012, according to TMZ. It is suggested that Wayne owes $5.8m (£3.4m) for 2011 and $6.3m (£3.7) for 2012.

Lil Wayne’s last album in the ‘Carter’ series, ‘Tha Carter IV’, was released in 2011 and charted at Number Eight in the Official UK Albums Chart. He was recently confirmed to feature on the forthcoming Young Money compilation, alongside Drake, Nicki Minaj and Christina Milian.
