Lil Wayne: ‘I’m looking forward to jail’

Rapper is due to start a year-long prison term, later this month

Lil Wayne has revealed he’s “looking forward” to his upcoming prison sentence.

The rapper, who begins a year-long sentence for gun possession later this month, will serve his time in a New York correctional facility.

“Nobody I can talk to can tell me what that’s like,” Wayne told Rolling Stone. “I just say I’m looking forward to it.”

Taking a positive outlook on the prison stretch, Wayne added that he thinks it’s “meant to be”.

“I look at things as ‘Everything is meant to be’,” he explained. “I know it’s an experience that I need to have if God’s putting me through it.”

He added: “So I don’t look at it as wrong, I just, I damn sure don’t look at it as right, that’s all.”

Earlier this month, Lil Wayne released his long-awaited rap-rock album, ‘Rebirth’, which overall recieved mixed reviews from critics.
