Singer wins gong ahead of Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys

Lily Allen has won the Giving It Back prize at the Shockwaves NME Awards tonight (February 24) for her Twitter ticket treasure hunt scheme.

Last year, the singer gave fans clues to where free tickets to her shows were hidden throughout her tours, giving details over the social networking site.

She picked up the prize from guest presenter and radio DJ Huw Stephens at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton tonight (February 24).

The other nominees in the category were:

Kasabian and Noel Fielding for free ‘Vlad The Impaler’ video
