'Hard Out Here' singer says she returned to music because she was 'impatient'
Lily Allen has said the reason she returned to music was because she got bored of staying at home with her children.
The ‘Hard Out Here’ singer, who has two young children aged two (Ethel) and 14 months (Marnie), says she realised she got fed up when she wasn’t being creative. While she enjoyed being a mum, she was desperate to flex her creative side in the music world again.
“Why did I choose to come back? I ran out of money! No, I’m joking! I thought I’d be a really happy mum just sitting at home, playing with my kids, that was my dream,” she told NRJ.com. ”I love my children, but I’m a very impatient, busy person naturally so two babies, neither of them can talk, it was quite boring! Staying at home all day talking to people that can’t talk back. I didn’t realise how much of a creative person I am and that I need somewhere to put my creativity.”
Lily Allen will perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of a one-off charity show this April. The singer will play live on April 1 as part of children’s charity Coram‘s City Rocks event. Coram is the world’s oldest children’s charity and celebrates its 275th birthday in 2014.
