Mike Smith suffers a pinched nerve after some onstage tomfoolery...
LIMP BIZKIT‘s new guitarist MIKE SMITH has injured his back and has been diagnosed with a pinched nerve after jumping while playing and landing awkwardly.
Smith sustained the injury during a gig at Webster Hall in New York last Wednesday (July 16), although he managed to finish the band’s set before leaving the venue in an ambulance. Doctors ordered the guitarist to rest for a couple of days.
Former Snot member Smith joined Limp Bizkit in March, replacing original guitarist Wes Borland, who left in October 2001 to form the group Eat The Day.
Back injuries have plagued Limp Bizkit over the past couple of years. The band were forced to cancel dates on their European tour in June 2001 after frontman Fred Durst suffered a stress fracture.
Limp Bizkit will be playing on the Summer Sanitarium tour until August 10 when it finishes in San Francisco. The band will then return to the studio to finish their forthcoming record, due out in September.
