Listen to George Ezra’s anthemic new song, ‘Shotgun’

The musician's second album is out tomorrow (March 23)

George Ezra has released ‘Shotgun’, the latest new track from his second album ‘Staying At Tamara’s’.

The Hertford musician will release the follow-up to his 2014 debut ‘Wanted On Voyage’ tomorrow (March 23).

Speaking to Phil Taggart on BBC Radio 1 earlier tonight, Ezra said of the song’s balmy sound: “I’ve never had this before, but we’ve had conversations of ‘Do we need to consider what the weather’s doing when we release these songs?’

“Some of the songs on this record lend themselves more to a nice open fire in a pub in England, and ‘Shotgun’ is definitely not that song. I’m just so happy that we’re releasing into leading into summer. Summer means festivals and festivals mean singing along. I’m very excited.”

Ezra told NME recently “the biggest theme” on ‘Staying At Tamara’s’ is “escaping”. “When you’re touring it’s a beautiful existence, but then you’re spat out the other end and there’s nothing,” he said. “All I could rely on was my creativity, and I’m not someone who can just wake up and write a song.”

The musician recently announced a new UK tour, including his biggest headline date so far at London’s The SSE Arena Wembley. The dates succeed a series of summer shows. Tickets are available now.
