Sia has released a new Bollywood-influenced song called ‘Never Give Up’.

The track, produced by her regular collaborator Greg Kurstin, is taken from the new film Lion. Based on a true story, it stars Dev Patel as an Indian-Australian businessman who uses Google Earth to track down the family he was accidentally separated from while growing up in India.

Rooney Mara co-stars as his girlfriend and Nicole Kidman appears in a supporting role as his adoptive mother. Listen to Sia’s soundtrack contribution below.

‘Never Give Up’ follows a small batch of new material Sia released last month on the Deluxe Edition of her ‘This Is Acting’ album.

The Deluxe Edition, which dropped on October 21, added seven tracks to the original 12-track album. These includes Sia’s recent single ‘The Greatest’, which features Kendrick Lamar, and three previously unheard songs called ‘Confetti’, ‘Jesus Wept’ and ‘Midnight Decisions’.

‘This Is Acting’ was released in January and has so far peaked at Number Three in the UK and Number Four in the US. Sia, an in-demand songwriter as well as a chart-topping recording artist, revealed before its release that the album features songs she had written for, but had rejected by, other artists.

“I’m calling it ‘This Is Acting’ because they are songs I was writing for other people. So I didn’t go in thinking ‘this is something I would say’. It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun,” she explained.
