Little Boots joins campaign against fashion sweatshops

The Blackpool songstress is working with the charity War On Want

Little Boots has joined a campaign against sweatshops in a bid to raise awareness of unhealthy working conditions in poor countries.

The Blackpool songstress – whose real name is Victoria Hesketh – is working with anti-poverty charity War on Want to rally against factories that exploit workers in both India and the UK.

“It’s awful for anyone who is not being paid minimum wage and [who] work their backsides off,” Hesketh told The Daily Record.

She added: “It is terrible that these sweatshops exist in Britain. The clothes aren’t the problem because they are cheaper and you can’t blame people for getting bargains. It is the manufacturers who need to make sure there are proper conditions for their workers.”
