Live Earth honoured with environmental award

Green prize will pay tribute to event’s 'greater awareness'

Live Earth will be honoured with an environmental award at the largest annual music industry event concerned with green issues.

The bash, along with Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, will take home a prize for ecological live event production at the Midem Green World Awards in Cannes, reports BBC News.

Both awards pay tribute to those who have promoted a greater awareness of environmental issues.

The Midem Music Conderence will take place later this month. the ceremony itself attracts thousands of music industry professionals worldwide.

Live Earth took place in July 2007 in a series of concerts staged around the world, including one at London’s then newly-reopened Wembley Stadium.
