Local Natives will be playing a host of UK and Ireland festivals this summer, including Glastonbury, Longitude Festival, Latitude Festival, Beacons Festival and Green Man.
Local Natives will also embark on a headline tour of the UK this October. The band, who released their second album ‘Hummingbird’ in January, will play 11 shows in total including performances in Cambridge, Norwich, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin and Bristol. A headline performance at London’s O2 Academy Brixton will take place on October 17, with the tour ending in Southampton on October 29.
‘Hummingbird’ saw them working with The National for the first time. Speaking to NME about working with The National’s Aaron Dessner, Local Natives’ guitarist and singer Taylor Rice said: “It was funny working with Aaron, because we just met the band on the road. They were so warm and welcoming and we all really hit it off. They’re tour buddies. We were talking about what we wanted to do with our second record, telling Aaron we were writing and talking to producers, and he joked that we should just do it with him.”
