The New Zealand star performed with the Bleachers musician during the Ally Coalition Talent Show last night (January 24)
The New Zealand artist performed the song during the fourth annual Ally Coalition charity event, which was hosted by Antonoff and his sister Rachel. The event is held to raise money for at-risk LGBTQ youth and to combat homelessness.
During her four-song set, Lorde sat down with Antonoff at a piano to perform Jepsen’s ‘Run Away With Me’, which featured on her 2015 album ‘Emotion’. The cover featured alongside a rendition of Roy Orbison‘s ‘You Got It’ in the small setlist, which also saw performances of the ‘Melodrama’ tracks ‘Green Light’ and ‘Writer In The Dark’.

However, after Lorde and Antonoff finished playing ‘Run Away With Me’, the former was subjected to a heckle from one audience member in reference to her decision to cancel a recent show in Israel.
After remarking that “you guys are so nice” to the audience, one punter called out: “Israel is nice, also.” That comment was met by boos from the majority of the crowd as Lorde replied: “I know, I know that.”
Antonoff reacted angrily to the heckle, standing up from his piano and declaring: “No, no – we’ve raised a shit-ton of money tonight. Fuck that negativity.”
