Lorde’s ‘Melodrama’ will finally be available on vinyl

The album of the year will be pressed on wax at long last

Lorde‘s ‘Melodrama’ has finally been confirmed to be released on vinyl.

The New Zealand pop star’s second album was named NME‘s Album Of The Year, beating off competition from the likes of Wolf Alice, Kendrick Lamar and more.

Next year, ‘Melodrama’ will be released as a deluxe edition pressed on royal blue vinyl, as Consequence Of Sound reports. The record sleeve will be double-sided, while it will also have a double gatefold jacket and a bi-fold lyric booklet with six double-sided photo inserts.

There will also be a standard edition of the album pressed on black vinyl. Both will be released on April 6, 2018 and can be pre-ordered here.

Meanwhile, one fan actually hung ‘Melodrama’ in the Louvre. The record contains a song named after the gallery, and Nina Richard showed her appreciation by taking the artwork to hang amongst the prestigious artwork there.

“Hey Lorde , I hung Melodrama in the Louvre!,” she wrote on Twitter. “A masterpiece surrounded by others – l took it on a journey through time and space, from Antiquity, passing by Renaissance, to Modern Times. (I had to do it very quickly cause security started to watch me and hunt down on me).”
