He’ll be the first act to play the HighLine Ballroom
Lou Reed is set to be the first act to play New York venue the HighLine Ballroom.
Named after a disused elevated railway that runs along the west side of Manhattan, the venue is situated on 16th Street in the Meatpacking district.
The HighLine Ballroom will also contribute to the local neighbourhood, donating 25 cents from every ticket sold to ’Friends of the High Line’, the non-profit organisation dedicated to the preservation and reuse of the High Line elevated rail structure.
A limited number of tickets will be sold to the public for the opening night performance by Lou Reed, and will cost $85.
