LOU REED IN ‘ECSTASY’

Ex-Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed is to play three UK dates to mark the release of his forthcoming album ‘ECSTASY’, due out through WEA on April 3.

The album is his first since 1996’s ‘Set The Twilight Reeling’ and tracks include ‘Paranoia Key Of E’, ‘Mad’, ‘Future Farmers Of America’, ‘Modern Dance’ and ‘Like A Possum’.

The album was recorded in New York and produced by Hal Wilner, who’s previously worked with Elvis Costello and Nick Cave.

Lou is currently in Hamburg, Germany, to oversee the premier of his new play ‘Poetry, which opens at the city’s Thalia Theatre on February 12.

His UK dates are Edinburgh Playhouse (May 15), Manchester Apollo Theatre (16) and London Royal Albert Hall (18).
