Lovebox and Citadel Festival moving to new location for 2018

The two London festivals will move to Brockwell Park in the south of the capital next year

Lovebox and Citadel Festival are being relocated for their 2018 editions.

The two London events have been held in Victoria Park – which is located in the east of the capital – for a number of years. Last year’s Lovebox saw a special headline performance from Frank Ocean, while Foals topped the bill at Citadel 2017.

However, from 2018 onwards both Lovebox and Citadel Festival will move to Brockwell Park in south London – 7 miles away from Victoria Park.

Speaking about the decision to move in 2018 after 13 years at Victoria Park, Lovebox founder Jools Butterfield said it would “open a new, ever more colourful chapter in our history, as we go back to our south London roots and make our new home in beautiful Brockwell Park.”

A statement on the Lovebox site adds: “Brockwell Park will be the perfect place to start the next chapter in Lovebox’s long and colourful history, and we can’t wait to make the move to this beautiful London park.

“Located just a short walk from Brixton station our new home will be a piece of cake to navigate, wherever you live in the city. We hope you join us for our next chapter – it wouldn’t be the same without you…”

Lovebox’s first ever festival back in 2002 was held on Clapham Common, while Citadel launched in 2015 at Victoria Park.
