Proceeds from the sale will go to the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls

Mac DeMarco is auctioning a well-worn pair of Vans shoes on eBay.

One of the old shoes has been signed by the Canadian multi-instrumentalist, who has also promised to throw “some other crap in the box before shipping it”. As pointed out by Stereogum, proceeds from the sale will go to the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls.

“Will anyone buy an old stinky pair of shoes? I don’t know. lets [sic] wait and see,” DeMarco wrote via the product’s eBay page. “If you’re one of those kids who tried to take them off my feet while I was crowd surfing at some point this year, nice try jackass. But hey, here’s another opportunity for you to have them.”

At the time of writing, the highest bid stands at over $10,000, with over six days left until the auction closes.

DeMarco was in the news last month after being arrested by police following a live performance at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). The 24-year-old climbed to the venue’s ceiling beams and was detained upon returning to the stage. According to UCSB police Lt Mark Signa, officers didn’t realise they had arrested the star of the show until they spoke to DeMarco outside the venue.
