Singer also jokes that he'd sent rapper photos of his 'naked penis'

Mac DeMarco has teased the prospect of an “extremely offensive” collaboration with Tyler, The Creator.

Speaking on the Kreative Kontrol podcast, the singer said he and the Odd Future rapper had been working on a project together, but admitted he did not know how or when it would be released.

“It was a very brief collaboration, not really anything that will show up on any kind of album or anything,” said DeMarco. “A little bit of movie shooting—the guy does have a TV show after all. It’s just going to be a short thing but probably extremely offensive so we’ll see how that turns out.”

DeMarco also said that the pair had been brought together by their mutual friend Chas, stating: “He’s like my number one fan or whatever. Chas actually has a Mac tattoo now; I gave him a tattoo of my name. Any way, he showed Tyler my stuff at some point and then Tyler started tweeting at me.

He added: “The people who do my press also do Odd Future’s press and when I was in L.A., they were like, ‘Tyler wants to meet up,’ and I was like, ‘Ok, sure.’ I’d already sent him pictures of my naked penis and stuff so I figured that meeting in the flesh was right around the corner.”

DeMarco is set to release his new LP ‘Salad Days’ on April 1. He recently recorded a live version of the track ‘Treat Her Better’ from the LP during a visit to the NME basement – listen below.

The singer has also announced a string of UK tour dates in support of the album. He will play the following shows:

Brighton The Old Market (May 19)
Glasgow Mono (20)
Manchester Sound Control (21)
London KOKO (22)
