Punk frontman in stabbing drama

Singer held on suspicion of murder

The frontman of former punk band Mest was arrested on Sunday (March 25) on suspicion of stabbing a 25-year-old man to death outside an apartment complex.

Anthony Lovato was arrested after Los Angeles police were called to a block of flats in North Hollywood.

According to Los Angeles Police Department officer Mike Lopez, they found a man in the parking lot with stab wounds in his chest.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.

Lopez said: “It’s believed the victim and Lovato were involved in a verbal dispute, possibly over a girlfriend. That’s when the suspect whipped out a knife.”

Lovato is currently being held on $1 million (£510,164) bail.

Mesh were signed to Madonna’s Maverick label and released several albums before disbanding in 2006.
