A bout of laryingitis forces the axeing of the star's New Jersey show...

MADONNA was forced to cancel a show at CONTINENTAL AIRLINES ARENA in NEW JERSEY on Friday (August 3) because of a bout of laryngitis.

According to a statement issued via her official website, www.madonna.com, her management said she was suffering from a throat infection and the show was pulled at the last minute by promoters Clear Channel Entertainment.

Ticket-holders who bought tickets by phone and Internet will be automatically refunded and credited to the card-holder within two weeks, the statement said, while tickets purchased in person will be refunded at point of purchase.

It would have been her seventh sold-out show in the New York on the US leg of her ‘Drowned World’ tour. The tour is expected to continue at Boston Fleet Center on August 7 and 8, proceeding to Washington DC MCI Center on August 10 and 11.

Another 14 dates will follow, culminating in four sold-out nights at Los Angeles Staples Center.
