memorabilia has raised over $200,000.

memorabilia from throughout her career has been on sale via the US online auctioneer www.gottahaveit.com since July 18.

The auction of items, which included handwritten lyrics, stage costumes and photographs, closed yesterday (August 1), and organisers are claiming that a total of $205,332 has been raised as a result of the sale.

Ninety-four per cent of the lots have been sold, with a beaded Dolce And Gabbana bra worn by the star during ‘The Girlie Tour’ selling for $23,850. Other items included Madonna

‘s handwritten lyrics from ‘Like A Prayer’, which fetched $20,000, the black sequinned bustier worn on the ‘Who’s That Girl’ tour which sold for $20,550 and her MTV Music Video Award for ‘Express Yourself’, which sold for $11,500.

Speaking about the auction, Gotta Have It! co-owner Bob Schagrin said: “We are ecstatic with the unprecedented results of this online auction. Bids came from across the United States and around the world. The global interest along with the record prices achieved have further cemented Madonna‘s place in pop culture history.”

Madonna is currently on the US leg of her ‘Drowned World’ tour.
