Madonna posts new ‘Ghosttown’ remix – listen

Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo has put together a new version of the single

Madonna has unveiled a new remix of recent single ‘Ghosttown’.

The original track appears on the singer’s latest album ‘Rebel Heart’, while this new club-friendly version is helmed by Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo. Click above to listen.

The release follows the news that ‘Rebel Heart’ is Madonna’s worst selling record in the US in over 20 years. The LP charted at Number Two on the Billboard 200, shifted just 116,000 copies in its first week, while her previous studio album, 2012’s ‘MDNA’, sold 359,000 in its first seven days on sale.

The figures are her lowest in her native country since her 1994 album ‘Bedtime Stories’, which also failed to debut at Number One. Sales for her 21st album also saw an 80 per cent drop in their second week, with figures of just 22,800.

Unfinished demos of ‘Rebel Heart’ tracks were posted online last December, prompting Madonna to describe the leak as “a form of terrorism” and “artistic rape”

The 56-year-old took to Instagram to comment, writing: “This is artistic rape!! These are early leaked demo’s half of which wont even make it on my album the other half have changed and evolved. This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?”.
