MADONNA’S UNINVITED CHRISTENING GUEST PLEADS GUILTY

Robert Podesta filmed the entire ceremony - even Sting singing 'Ave Maria'...

A man who hid in the church at the christening of MADONNA and GUY RITCHIE’s child ROCCO in SCOTLAND last December pleaded guilty to breach of the peace at DORNOCH SHERIFF COURT yesterday (March 5).

Robert Podesta, 51, from Herefordshire, Wales, hid behind the organ pipes of Dornoch Cathedral the day before the christening on December 21, the Daily Record reports today. He took food, drinks and black bin liners to use as portable toilets while he hid, and filmed the entire ceremony, including Sting singing ‘Ave Maria’. He was caught by security guards as he tried to leave the cathedral an hour after the ceremony, and attempted to fool the police by switching video tapes and hiding the one with the christening footage on it.

Prosecutor Alistair Macdonald said Podesta intended to sell the video, which would have “considerable commercial value”.

Charges of trespassing in the cathedral were dropped after Podesta pleaded not guilty. He will be sentenced on March 29 on the breach of the peace charge.

His co-accused James Bufton, 33, who had been accused of allegedly trespassing, committing a breach of the peace and attempting to defeat the course of justice by giving a false name, had pleas of not guilty to all charges accepted.
