Madonna teases release of first new music since 2015

The pop legend last dropped an album - 'Rebel Heart', her thirteenth studio LP - over three years ago

Madonna has hinted to her fans that she has new music on the way.

The singer was last active musically in March 2015 with the release of her thirteenth studio album ‘Rebel Heart’. While that LP featured guest contributions from the likes of Nicki Minaj, Chance The Rapper and Mike Tyson, ‘Rebel Heart’ was reportedly also Madonna’s worst-performing album in the US commercially for over 20 years.

Madonna now appears to be gearing up to release her first new material in over three years. Taking to Instagram today (May 17), she posted what appears to be cover art for a single or project which carries the title ‘Beautiful Game’.

The caption also tags the French producer Mirwais, who worked with Madonna on such records as ‘Music’ and ‘American Life’.

Last month, Madonna failed in her legal battle to block the sale of a number of personal items, including a letter she wrote to Tupac and an old hairbrush which contained locks of her hair.

“The fact that I have attained celebrity status as a result of success in my career does not obviate my right to maintain my privacy, including with regard to highly personal items,” Madonna remarked in court papers about her objection to the sale.

“I understand that my DNA could be extracted from a piece of my hair. It is outrageous and grossly offensive that my DNA could be auctioned for sale to the general public.”
