Meanwhile, the Diplo-led project release new mix-tape
Major Lazer have announced that they have delayed the release of their new album ‘Free The Universe’.
The Diplo-led project’s second album, which features collaborations with a wide variety of guest artists including Santigold, Shaggy and Danielle Haim from Haim, was originally due out on February 26. However, the album has been postponed with no new date scheduled.
The group wrote in an online statement : “We never want to disappoint our supporters but circumstances out of our control have made us unable to keep the intended date. For anyone disappointed, we are truly apologetic and we promise that this hiccup has only made what we have planned for the album stronger. We tried extremely hard to keep the date but it was ultimately decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to you and everyone who worked so hard on it.”
However, it’s not all bad news for fans as the group’s next single ‘Watch Out For This (Bumaye)’ is available as an instant download to anyone who pre-orders ‘Free The Universe’ on iTunes from February 26.
Meanwhile, Major Lazer will be putting out three volumes of music until the album is released. The first mixtape, ‘Lazer Strikes Back Vol. 1’, is available to download by clicking here.
The tracklisting for ‘Lazer Strikes Back Vol.1’ is:
‘Jah No Partial’ (Jack Beats Remix)
‘Get Free’ [feat. Amber of Dirty Projectors] (Yellow Claw Get Free Money Remix)
‘Original Don’ [feat. The Partysquad] (DGRC Remix)
