Original Wild Bunch members heal rift

Massive Attack‘s Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall has revealed that the Bristol band have made up with their former collaborator Tricky.

Marshall explained that he and bandmate Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja met up with Tricky in Paris recently, and said that the meeting was positive.

“Things seem like they’ve healed between us and Tricky,” he told BBC 6music. “It’s been quite well documented how us and Tricky get on, hasn’t it? It’s not that well, but things have changed. Things have softened up. We saw Tricky a couple of weeks ago in Paris and it was quite an amicable meeting after five or six years.”

Marshall added that he wanted Tricky to appear on Massive Attack‘s forthcoming album ‘Heligoland’, released on February 8, although the collaboration didn’t take place.

“I did actually ask Tricky to come on board for this album and there’s talk about him maybe coming on the next album,” he explained.

The last time the two worked together was on Massive Attack‘s 1994 album ‘Protection’. ‘Heligoland’ features a guest appearance from Tricky‘s former girlfriend Martina Topley-Bird, as well as Damon Albarn and Elbow‘s Guy Garvey.
