MASSIVE ATTACK PAY TRIBUTE TO MURDERED BLACK TEENAGER

The London memorial to Stephen Lawrence also features performances from ADF and Des'ree...

MASSIVE ATTACK, ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION, COURTNEY PINE, DES’REE and MICA PARIS are amongst the artists set to appear at a memorial concert for murdered black teenager STEPHEN LAWRENCE later this month.

The show takes place in London’s Kentish Town Forum on April 22, the eighth anniversary of his death. All money raised will go to the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, an organisation established by his family to provide bursaries for architectural students with ability, but without the means in Britain, Jamaica and South Africa.

The Prodigy are also rumoured to be making a rare live appearance.

Stephen Lawrence died following a race attack by a gang of white youths while standing at a bus stop in south London. No-one has ever been prosecuted for his murder.

The memorial event is being supported by high-profile names in music and politics, including Prime Minister’s wife Cherie Blair, a barrister and longtime advocate for justice in the Lawrence inquiry, cabinet minister Mo Mowlam and Sir Paul McCartney.

Tickets for the event are now on sale.
