Thousands of fans turned away from Maximo Park charity gig

Plus band confirm comeback single plans

Maximo Park were forced to turn away fans from a charity gig in Newcastle last night (March 25) – because the venue the band were playing wasn’t big enough to fit in the entire crowd.

As previously announced, Maximo Park were playing Newcastle College Performance Academy in support of the No Surrender charity.

The free gig saw roughly 2,500 fans queuing around the block, but as the Academy‘s capacity is only 400, the band were left with no option but to turn away a large number of people from the gig.

Those who did get in also had the chance to buy a limited edition vinyl version of the band’s new song ‘Wraithlike’, which is being offered as a free download on Maximopark.com.

Meanwhile, Maximo Park have also announced details of their comeback single.

Called ‘The Kids Are Sick Again’, the song is released on on May 4.

Maximo Park‘s third album, ‘Quicken The Heart’, is set to be released later in May.
