Both rappers will appear on 'Hell In A Handbasket'
Meat Loaf has roped in unlikely collaborators Lil John and Chuck D for his new album.
The ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ singer has revealed that he is currently working on three new albums, the first of which, ‘Hell In A Handbasket’, will feature the rappers in guest appearances.
Meat Loaf met Lil John when the pair appeared on Celebrity Apprentice together last spring, while the connection with Public Enemy star Chuck D came through the singer’s son-in-law, Scott Ian of Anthrax. “[D] was going to do one thing, and he came back and did something else and we flipped out,” he told Billboard.com.
Of ‘Hell In A Handbasket’, he revealed:
[It’s] the most personal record I’ve ever made. It’s about how I feel the world’s gone to hell in a handbasket. It’s really the first record that I’ve ever put out about how I feel about life and how I feel about what’s going on at the moment.
He added that album is “definitely rock” and that it “sounds different”” It will be produced by Paul Crook, from his current touring band, with Rob Cavallo consulting.
Additionally he said he was working on a Christmas album named ‘Hot Holidays’, along with a third separate album, which he would not name.
