Film is part of her multi-media concept album
Melissa Auf Der Maur is set to screen ‘Out Of Our Minds’, her short film in collaboration with filmmaker Tony Stone, at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT this month.
Auf der Maur, who was previously the bass player for Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, is also gearing up for the release of the multi-media version of ‘Out Of Our Minds’, which incorporates an album, the aforementioned film, a comic and a website.
The concept is centered around three time periods, with the central characters being a woman (Auf der Maur) and her car. The film is 28 minutes long, and according to a press release, “follows her in a strange ritual that climaxes in a collision between past and future.”
‘Out Of Our Minds’ will be screened at the Holiday Village Cinema III on January 16 at 11.30am, and at the Holiday Village Cinema IV on January 20 at 6.15pm, and January 23 at 3.15pm.
The release of ‘Out Of Our Minds’ is preceded by a 3-song digital and vinyl EP on Auf der Maur’s own label MAdMMusic.
