James Hetfield joins the seminal punk heroes onstage...

METALLICA frontman JAMES HETFIELD joined the MISFITS onstage in SAN FRANCISCO at the weekend (November 17) to work through two tracks.

Hetfield, a long-time fan of the seminal punks, had been in the crowd at the Maritime Hall in the city when he asked to join them. He leapt up and played on’Last Caress’ and ‘Die, Die My Darling’.

Metallica have, in the past, covered Misfits tracks both on record and on stage, including the two Hetfield performed onstage.

Meanwhile, Metallica are asking fans to choose the track they would like to hear the band perform at the upcoming VH1 Awards show in New York. The band will be playing live at the Shrine Auditorium on November 30 alongside U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Creed, Christina Aguilera and Bon Jovi on the night.
