Kings Of Leon and Carla Bruni also play 'Later... With Jools' in London
Metallica played one of their smallest shows in years in west London last night (September 16).
The band, joined by Kings Of Leon and France’s First Lady Carla Bruni performed in front of a tiny audience at TV Centre during the live recording of ‘Later… With Jools Holland’.
The show featured the current holders of the Number One spot on the albums and singles charts – Metallica and Kings Of Leon, respectively – and the bands were in a celebratory mood as the musical jamboree was recorded in west of the capital.
The Followill clan performed their chart-topping single ‘Sex On Fire’ and new track ‘Crawl’ alongside their classic ‘On Call’.
Metallica played a number of tracks from their Number One album ‘Death Magnetic’, ‘Cyanide’ and ‘The Day That Never Comes’, as well as bringing out a performance of fan favourite ‘Enter Sandman’, from 1991’s ‘The Black Album’.
After filming ended, all the bands stayed to chat with lucky fans who attended the taping.
The show, also featuring Nicole Atkins and VV Brown, will be broadcast in full on BBC2 at 11.35pm (BST) this Friday (September 19).
