Jason Newsted's Echobrain appear in San Francisco at, ahem, 'Nadine's Wild Weekend'...
Departed METALLICA bass player JASON NEWSTED’s band ECHOBRAIN are set to make their live debut later this month.
The group, which features fellow members Brian Sagrafena and Dylan Donkin, will perform as part of ‘Nadine’s Wild Weekend’ festival, according to a press release on the event’s website, www.nadineswildweekend.com.
The show, which is part of a wider showcase of Californian local talent, will take place on August 19 at the San Francisco Bimbo’s 365 Club.
EchoBrain the first musical project Newsted has worked on since leaving Metallica earlier this year, citing “private and personal reasons, and the physical damage I have done to myself over the years while playing the music that I love” as the major reasons for his departure.
Speaking about EchoBrain, Newsted said: “It was important for us to play our first show in the Bay Area and there is no better way to debut than Nadine’s Wild Weekend.
“Dylan and Brian were born and raised here, and I’ve been living in the Bay Area for a while now, so to me, EchoBrain is very much like homegrown California music. The whole thing works perfectly into our plan and we are totally psyched that we’re involved.”
