Jason Newsted appears onstage with a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old...
JASON NEWSTED has made his first public appearance since leaving METALLICA – performing alongside a 12-year-old guitarist at a small club gig in California.
As previously revealed on NME.COM, Newsted walked out on Metallica earlier in the year, citing “private and personal reasons, and the physical damage I have done to myself over the years while playing the music that I love” as the major reasons for his departure.
Now, according to MTV news in the US, Newsted joined teenage duo the Moss Brothers onstage at the launch party for their latest album, ‘Electricitation’, last Sunday (April 1).
‘Electricitation’ features Newsted’s trademark bass on the majority of album, and the band, comprising 12-year-old Reuben Moss and his 15-year-old drummer brother Evan, performed alongside the bassist at the Ashkenaz Club in Berkeley, California.
Metallica plan to start looking for a new bassist later in the month, when they commence work on their new studio album.
