Canadian band will arrive in Britain for live dates in October

Metric have announced a series of UK tour dates for later this year.

The indie-rock band from Toronto will play five shows in England and Scotland in October. They will be touring in support of their upcoming album ‘Pagans In Vegas’, which will be released on September 18.

The tour will begin in Bristol on October 7 followed by shows in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Oxford. The tour ends in London at The Forum on October 14.

In a statement on their Facebook page announcing the new album, Metric said, “Life is beautiful. The world is cruel. What is there to want that’s worth wanting? The answer is to want everything, because there is no material equivalent to the feeling we seek. I want it all! Our new album is called Pagans in Vegas and it comes out September 18, 2015.”

‘Pagans in Vegas’ is the band’s sixth studio album and their first in three years, the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Synthetica’. The LP is due out on September 18 and will include previously released track ‘The Shade’, as well as a brand new song, ‘Cascades’.

Metric will play:

Bristol O2 Academy (October 7)
Birmingham Institute (October 8)
Mancheste Ritz (October 9)
Glasgow O2 ABC (October 11)
Oxford O2 Academy (October 12)
London Forum (October 14)

O2 Priority Tickets for Metric are available from 9am tomorrow
