Band give bizarre interview at Shockwaves NME Awards
MGMT have bizarrely claimed that their hit ‘Time To Pretend’ was inspired by a praying mantis in an exclusive video taken at the Shockwaves NME Awards, which you can watch by clicking below.
The pair bagged the Best Track award for the song.
When asked what inspired it Andrew VanWyngarden said: “It was a praying mantis that was named after our experimental music adviser. We found her in a yard sale. She loved The Clash.”
