Cee Lo Green, Smokey Robinson and Alien Ant Farm also on bill at Cardiff Millennium Stadium
3T – a trio of the Jackson’s nephews whose 1995 debut album was co-produced by the late singer – are also scheduled to perform, along with Alien Ant Farm, who released a cover of Jackson track ‘Smooth Criminal’ in 2001.
Registration for the tickets opened at Michaelforevertribute.com tonight (August 11) at 8pm (BST).
Organisers Global Live Events has said more names will be announced in the coming weeks and months from “various generations and musical genres”, with the likes of Jay-Z, Kanye West, Usher and Justin Bieber on the wishlist.
The concert, which is being organised by Jackson’s mother Katherine, has divided opinion in the late King Of Pop’s family. His sister La Toya, Tito, Marlon and Jackie are thought to be supportive, although Jermaine and Randy have described it as ‘inappropriate’ and ‘ill-timed’.
This is mainly because the man accused of causing Jackson’s death in 2009, Dr Conrad Murray, is due to be standing trial at the same time as the gig is taking place.
