Michael Jackson’s brothers to stage another tribute concert later this year?

Late singer's siblings will headline the gig, but Randy Jackson won't be involved, according to report

Members of Michael Jackson‘s family are apparently planning on staging another tribute concert for the singer later this year – but the late pop star’s brother Randy Jackson will not be involved.

According to TMZ, the show – which is set to take place in Tokyo, Japan this December – will be headlined by various members of the singer’s family, although it is currently unknown which of his other siblings will take part in the performance.

While Tito, Marlon and Jackie Jackson all performed at last weekend’s special tribute concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff (October 8), the late singer’s brothers Randy and Jermaine criticised the show for clashing with the trial of Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray.

“While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honours our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael’s death,” they said in a statement.

“As everyone knows, those proceedings commence September 20th, and this Michael Forever concert takes place in Cardiff, Wales, on 8 October. In light of this, we feel it is inappropriate to be involved with such an ill-timed event and its promoter, Global Live.”

Last weekend’s ‘Michael Forever’ show included performances from Smokey Robinson, Cee Lo Green and Gladys Knight, while Beyonce paid her respects with a pre-taped performance.

His sister La Toya, meanwhile, came out of retirement to play for the late singer. She said: “I have put musical performance behind me for roughly two decades. But there will never be another magical moment such as this to celebrate Michael with his fans to perpetuate the importance of his legacy.”

However, Black Eyed Peas pulled out of the line-up just a few days before a show, fuelling rumours that the band were set to split up.
