Posthumous Michael Jackson track ‘Chicago’ released – listen

The Timbaland-produced song will appear on new album 'Xscape'

A new posthumous Michael Jackson track has emerged online.

The track, titled ‘Chicago’, appears on the upcoming album ‘Xscape’ which will be released on May 13 and features eight unreleased songs worked on by contemporary artists and producers.

The Timbaland-produced ‘Chicago’ was originally titled ‘She Was Lovin’ Me’ when Jackson first recorded it in 1999, and it was meant to appear on his 2001 album ‘Invincible’ but didn’t make the cut. Listen to it here.

As ‘Xscape’ executive producer Antonio ‘LA’ Reid announced in a statement, he put together the eight tracks from the pop icon’s vaults to put a contemporary edge on them. Other producers featuring on the album include Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome ‘Jroc’ Harmon and John McClain.

“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with,” Reid said (via Rolling Stone). “We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”

Last month, another track from the album ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ was released. It was written by Paul Anika and originally recorded by Jackson in 1983.
