Michael Jackson has been charged with seven counts of child molestation.

The singer has been accused by police of abusing a 14 year-old boy, and will appear in court on January 16.

BBC news reports that in addition to the molestation charge, District Attorney Tom Sneddon said Michael Jackson had been charged two counts of administering intoxicating liquor to a minor with the intent of committing a crime.

Michael Jackson will still be able to visit the UK from December 20-January 6 to promote his album.
