Michelle Obama has released the tracklist for the Valentine’s Day mixtape she made Barack

There are some absolute bangers on this thing.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Michelle Obama has released a 44-track long playlist dedicated to her husband and former POTUS, Barack Obama.

The mix is titled “Forever Mine: Michelle to Barack” is a beautiful mix of soul, folk, R&B and funk from this era and the last. The number of tracks refers to Barack’s presidential number as the 44th POTUS.

Michelle wrote on Twitter: “Happy #ValentinesDay to my one and only, @Barack Obama. To celebrate the occasion, I’m dedicating a little Valentine’s Day playlist to you!”.

Michelle Obama’s playlist includes tracks from favourite in the Obama household, Beyoncé as well as James Taylor, Ed Sheeran, Alabama Shakes, Leon Bridges, Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston and Kendrick Lamar.

At the end of last year, Barack Obama shared his playlist of his favourite songs of 2017 and he’s known to do at the end of every year. 

The former US President started the tradition of sharing the music and books that had been on his stereo when he was still resident at The White House.

On New Year’s Eve, he posted on his official Facebook page, calling the exercise a “nice way to reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world. With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music that I enjoyed the most”.

Featured on the playlist are the likes of Frank Ocean, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Chance The Rapper, The National, U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Portugal. The Man.
