Miley Cyrus shows off new Flaming Lips-inspired tattoo

Singer has name of 1987 song 'Love Yer Brain' etched on right arm

Miley Cyrus has got a new tattoo inspired by The Flaming Lips.

The singer posted pictures of her latest inking via Instagram earlier today (August 6) with the phrase ‘Love Yer Brain’ now permanently etched onto the top of her right forerarm. The phrase is a reference to the US band’s song of the same name, which can be heard on 1987 album ‘Oh My Gawd!!!’

Cyrus is good friends with Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne and has covered their song ‘Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt 1’ as part of her ‘Bangerz’ tour. The pop star has also contributed to their remake of The Beatles’ album ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’.

Set for release on October 28, ‘With A Little Help From My Fwends’ features a version of ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ with vocals from both Cyrus and Moby. J Mascis, MGMT, Tegan & Sara and Foxygen also appear on the album. Cyrus will also appear on a cover of ‘A Day In The Life’.

Wayne Coyne recently paid tribute to the Miley Cyrus’s late dog Floyd by joining the pop star in getting matching tattoos that feature an image of the dearly departed pet.
