In an interview with Rolling Stone the pop star has said that she also wants to record her next LP with the band.
She commented: “On my last record, everything we did was with computers. But they’re real musicians – they can change keys on a whim. I’ve never seen anything like it. They’ve had me on this journey that’s greater than anything I’ve been on. It’s really deep.”
Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips spoke about his friendship with the singer.
He said: “Our shows are very childlike, like kids on acid, and hers are too. We’re so much alike in believing art is supposed to be fun. She’s just a freak. I love her to death.”
Earlier this year The Flaming Lips covered The Beatles’ ‘A Day In The Life’ with Miley Cyrus. The band recruited artists including MGMT, Tame Impala and Miley Cyrus for a remake of The Beatles’ album ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.’ Coyne and Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips also recently joined Cyrus during her gig at LA’s Staples Center for a rendition of their classic song ‘Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Part 1’.
